We are seeking motivated, self-starter Java Engineers (Middle/Senior & Above) who are passionate, and results-focused to provide Java back-end development capability within NAB engineering teams. You will be part of our delivery team and will be responsible for providing technical leadership throughout all phases of the software delivery life cycle as we initiate a transformation of NAB technology.



YOUR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Analyze, design, and implement features that enhance the business or customer experience; Automate technology operational processes, including change deployment, application resilience, monitoring/alerting, and user self-service.
Take guidance from the Engineer Manager, and set standards for design, process, and tech workload allocation within the scrum team. Ensures sufficient design guidance exists at story kick-off.
Take ownership and accountability for production service, including fix on fail, problem investigation, root cause determination, and resolution.
Participate in the delivery of automated production change, understanding change content, executing change control procedures, appropriate technical and business verification, and user communications.
Participate in and provide quality assurance activities, including code reviews, white-box testing, test coverage for own work, etc. Debugging and fixing code defects.

Must have

Experience as a software engineer in a complex, enterprise-level development environment.
Solid experience in Java 8+ and Java open-source frameworks, including developing using Spring MVC or modern frameworks, e.g. Springboot.
Good English communication skills (both verbal & written), especially in the global software development environment.
Nice-to-have

Experience in designing & developing RESTful APIs and microservices-based systems.
Experience in Cloud computing (AWS, Azure, etc).
Practical experience in Containers (ECS, Kubernetes, Docker) and FaaS (AWS Lambda) technologies.
Experience with distributed, event-driven systems and using messaging protocols. Messaging middleware such as Apache Kafka is preferred.
Experience in the Banking or Financial Services industry.
Experience in modern CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g. Git, Ansible, Jenkins, NPM, Gradle).
Experience with other programming languages besides Java; i.e NodeJS.
